Agartala: August 25. Police posted in Assam-Tripura border has arrested four persons while smuggling cannabis from Tripura to Bihar. But this time the smugglers are using the Jherjheri-Kanthaltali road without using the Churaibari main road. Several times in a row, the Kanthaltali police caught the traffickers with cannabis.
However, in this case, the driver of the vehicle showed his honesty and informed the Kanthaltali police as they found the passenger suspicious. Soon after the information the police came and searched the bags and recovered eighty bags of 73 kg of ganja. The smugglers said that they brought these cannabis from Teliamura to smuggle in Bihar. The in-charge of Kanthaltali police station said that the black market value of the seized ganja is Rs 7 lakh 30 thousand. Names of four smugglers arrested are Md Bejal, Md Mazrul, Pawan Kumar Yadav and Sanju Kumar. All four arrested are residents of Bihar. The Kanthaltali police have registered a case under the NDPS Act against the arrested.
