21-year old youth dies in road mishap at Sonamura

Agartala, November 24, 2022: A 21-year old youth died after meeting with a road mishap today at Kalam Khet Panchayat area from Sonamura to Melaghar on the main road.

Reportedly, Raju Varman of Ward number 7 under Melaghar municipal council was riding his motorcycle TR01Q-9269 left for his home from Sonamura. Another dumper vehicle bearing registration number TR01D-1663 from opposite direction.Consequently, Raju failed to control and met with an accident. He died on spot. Melaghar fire service rushed Raju to Melaghar hospital, but doctor on duty declared him brought dead.

Meanwhile, the driver of the dumper abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. The dumper vehicle and the bike were brought to Melaghar police station. The area is an accident prone area where small and big accidents are happening frequently, accidents have killed many people. Starting from ordinary pedestrians, people have been repeatedly demanding the administration to arrange a traffic here but who is listening to whom. People from the intellectual sector say that if there was traffic control, such accidents would have been very less. So the death of a fresh body today in this accident casts a shadow of deep mourning in the area.
