Agartala, 26th August 2026: The Tripura Directorate of Elementary Education has granted the regular scale of pay to 242 Graduate Teachers (GTs) at the elementary level after they completed five years of continuous service following their appointment on a fixed-pay basis.
The teachers were recruited on the recommendation of the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT), after qualifying T-TET-II. They initially served on fixed pay and have now been brought under the regular pay structure upon completion of the prescribed five-year period.
The regular scale has been granted at Rs. 5,700–24,000 under Level-9, Cell-1 of the ROP 2018 Pay Matrix, effective from the respective dates mentioned in the official annexure. Their fixed-pay posts will be deemed converted into regular posts from the date the benefit takes effect.
District Education Officers, Inspectors of Schools and Heads of Offices have been directed to arrange salary disbursement under the regular scale and make necessary entries in the teachers’ service books. The benefit is subject to uninterrupted completion of five years of service.
The 242 teachers are posted across South Tripura, Gomati, Sepahijala, Khowai, Dhalai, Unakoti and North Tripura districts.
The Directorate has also directed District Education Officers to submit, by September 10, 2026, details of other elementary-level Graduate Teachers who have completed five years in the fixed category, enabling their cases to be processed.
The order was issued by Director of Elementary Education Dr. Samit Roy Choudhury, IAS. The additional expenditure will be met from the relevant Head of Account under which their fixed-pay salaries are currently drawn.
