Agartala, 21st May 2024 : On Tuesday morning, a somber tragedy struck at Old Tabla Bari as a fifty-year-old woman lost her life to drowning. The victim, identified as Parampati Debbarma, met her untimely demise in a pond situated within her residence premises under the jurisdiction of Khowai police station. According to reports, Parampati had ventured to the pond early in the morning, where irrigation work was underway.
Tragically, she slipped and fell into the water without any bystanders present to aid her. Lacking the ability to swim, she succumbed to the depths of the pond. Upon realizing her absence, her family members grew concerned and immediately contacted the authorities. Swift response from the fire brigade ensued, with personnel rushing to the scene to rescue Parampati Devvarma from the water. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced deceased upon arrival at Khowai District Hospital by the attending physician.
Promptly informed of the incident, authorities from Khowai Police Station swiftly initiated an investigation into the unusual death.
