Agartala, 10th March 2025: The 54th National Safety Week was commemorated on Monday at Udyog Bhavan, the auditorium of the Factory Owners Association located at the Industrial Growth Center, Bodhjungnagar. The event is organized to promote workplace safety. Labour minister Tinku Roy graced the programme as the chief guest.
During his address, Roy emphasized, “Workplace safety is not just a legal obligation but a moral one. Industrial growth and safety must go hand in hand to ensure the well-being of workers and sustainable development.”
The programme was also attended by Muhammad Sajad P., Director of Tripura Industries and Commerce Department, Biswajit Pal, Additional Labour Commissioner and Suryapal Majumdar, Chief Inspector of Factories and Boilers Engineer. Pranagopal Saha, Secretary of the Tripura Industry Owners Association presided over the meeting.
Reflecting on the importance of safety measures in industrial workplaces, Investigator of the concerned department Dilip Bhowmik stated, “Industrial safety is a continuous process. It requires diligence, training, and an unwavering commitment to prevent workplace hazards.”
The event also celebrated exemplary safety practices, with the prestigious “Safety Award 2024” being conferred upon Annada Spices Industry widely recognized as Longtharai Industrial Society. Pranagopal Saha highlighted the significance of such recognition, adding, “This award sets a benchmark for industries to follow rigorous safety standards and foster a culture of responsibility.”
