Agartala, 10th March 2025:   A recruitment notification for jail police was issued in 2022, followed by the completion of physical examinations. However, the recruitment process has since come to a standstill, causing frustration among job aspirants. On Monday, a group of hopeful candidates protested in front of the office of the Inspector General of Prisons, expressing their grievances over the prolonged delay.

The candidates alleged that even after two years of the physical examinations, the final list of selected candidates has not been published. Drawing attention to the matter, they made an urgent appeal to the state government and concerned ministers to expedite the process.

The aspirants highlighted their frustration, pointing out that four years have passed without any progress in the recruitment. They described the sluggishness of the process as disheartening and demanded its immediate completion. Some expressed their desperation, stating that if no action is taken, their suffering would continue despite the so-called “double-engine” government in power. They emphasized that neglecting the needs of unemployed youth is a matter of grave concern.
