62 Dengue infected patients at Dhanpur

Agartala, July 28, 2023: An outbreak of dengue has taken place in different areas of Dhanpur in Sonamura subdivision. Currently, the number of dengue infected patients is 62.

It is learned that dengue has become deadly in Bangladesh. And the number of patients suffering from fever was increasing for about 2 weeks in different places of Dhanpur assembly area near Bangladesh border.

Although initially the health administration and common people did not pay much attention to the matter. Doctors thought it was typhoid. Then dengue antigen test was started among the patients who came to Dhanpur primary health center. Later the sample was sent to AGMC for ELISA test for further confirmation. Doctors confirmed that this fever is dengue last Monday. Still, there was a kind of cover-up about the matter.

Journalists working in Dhanpur could not bring out the truth of the matter from the mouth of anyone in the health department despite many efforts. Finally, the district medical officer confirmed the matter on Thursday night. By that time, the number of dengue patients in different areas of Dhanpur increased to 62 people.

Dr Sumantika Das, in-charge of Dhanpur primary health center, said that dengue positive patients were detected from last July 22. In 7 days, 62 positive cases were detected.
