6,700 kg of fish to be sold at govt counters for Bengali New Year

Agartala, 9th April 2026:   To mark the upcoming Bengali New Year, the Tripura Fisheries Development Corporation has announced that a total of 6,700 kilograms of fish will be sold to the public at government-approved counters across the state on April 15 (Wednesday). The fish will be available at fair prices to ensure wider access during the festive season.

The varieties on offer include Catla, Rohu, Mrigal, Common Carp, and Silver Carp, among others. Officials said the fish will be supplied directly from government-run farms to designated sales points.

According to the Tripura Fisheries Development Corporation, fish will be sold at several designated counters across the state, including the Kanchanpur, Panisagar, Dharmanagar, Kumarghat, Kamalpur, Khowai, Chakmaghat, Mandai, Udaipur, Amarpur, and Sabroom SF office complexes. Additional sale points include Ganganagar FBF, Fatikroy FA Circle Office, Karamchara FBF, Ganaki FSC, Lembuchhara FSC, Kalamchoura FSC, Kamalasagar FBF, Bagmara, Dhanisagar Farm Office Complex, R.M. Dighi Complex in Udaipur, TFTI Farm Complex in Udaipur, as well as the NFS Farm and Muhuripur Fisheries Sales Counter.

The initiative aims to make fresh fish easily available to households during the festive period, while supporting local aquaculture farms.
