Agartala, 23rd March 2026: ABRSM Tripura (Mahavidyalaya Shiksha) organised a felicitation programme to honour the newly appointed Principals of Government Degree Colleges in Tripura at Women’s College, Agartala.
The programme witnessed the active participation of around 60 senior teacher karyakartas, including office bearers such as the President, General Secretary, and members of the Executive Committee. Dr. Dhirendra Debnath, Sangathan Mantri, was also present, representing ABRSM Tripura Prant.
Dr. Pramode Ranjan Bhattacharjee, Retired Principal, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Dipankar Chakraborty, Principal, Aurobindo Government Degree College, Agartala, and Dr. Anupam Guha, Principal, M.M.D. College, Sabroom, attended as Special Guests.
Four newly appointed Principals Dr. Arjun Gope (MBB College, Agartala). Dr. Manidip Roy (S.V. Mahavidyalaya, Mohanpur), Dr. Niranjan Das (K.N. Mahavidyalaya, Sonamura), and Dr. Raghunandan Das (Ambedkar College, Fatikroy) were felicitated during the programme.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and floral tributes to Mata Saraswati, followed by Saraswati Vandana. The Guest of Honour and Special Guests were felicitated by the President and Sangathan Mantri, respectively.
Debashis Roy Chowdhury, General Secretary of the organisation, extended a warm welcome to the newly appointed Principals, the Guest of Honour, Special Guests, and all karyakartas present. He congratulated the new Principals on achieving this significant milestone in their professional careers. He assured them of the organisation’s full cooperation in their efforts towards the advancement of the causes of education, educators,
and students. In their addresses, the Special Guests, Dr. Dipankar Chakraborty and Dr. Anupam Guha, appreciated the organisation for arranging such a meaningful felicitation programme. They shared their experiences as Principals and conveyed their best wishes to the newly appointed Principals.
The newly appointed Principals were then felicitated by the dignitaries with a congratulatory plaque, pen, organisation brochure, and uttariya.
In his address, Dr. Pramode Ranjan Bhattacharjee, Guest of Honour, praised the uniqueness of the programme in the context of Tripura. He congratulated the honourees and offered practical advice on maintaining discipline among staff and students, as well as emphasising the importance of due diligence in administrative and financial matters.
The four honourees, in their respective speeches, reflected on their professional journeys leading to their appointment as Principals and shared their visions for their institutions. They expressed confidence in the organisation and a willingness to collaborate to strengthen higher education in the state.
Shri Tirtharam Reang, President of ABRSM Tripura (Mahavidyalaya Shiksha), addressed the gathering and expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the honourees and the dignitaries for gracing the occasion.
The programme concluded with the singing of the Rashtrageet.
