Agartala, 23rd March 2026: The four-day Basanti Puja celebrations are set to commence across the state from tomorrow, with local artisans working tirelessly to complete the final touches on idols of the goddess.
Traditionally observed in households, Basanti Puja this year has also spurred widespread activity in community pandals, where both male and female clay sculptors are engaged in idol-making. Workshops in various districts are abuzz as artisans race against time to ensure the idols are ready and adorned before the rituals begin.
The final stages of preparation are underway: some idols are receiving their last coats of paint, while others are being decorated with ornaments and attire. The atmosphere in the workshops reflects a sense of devotion and urgency, as artists strive to present the goddess in her most divine form.
With pandals across the state gearing up, the celebrations are expected to draw large gatherings, marking the onset of the festive season with devotion and artistry.
