Agartala, 12th December 2024: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest on Thursday against the various problems plaguing Bir Bikram Memorial College. The organization submitted a deputation to the college professor, demanding immediate resolution of these issues.
A student leader, addressing journalists, highlighted several concerns. “A statue of Swami Vivekananda and Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya has been installed in the college. However, students have not been issued identity cards for a long time. Additionally, there is no adequate drinking water facility, and the college toilets are in a deplorable condition,” the leader stated.
The students complained about the stench in the college toilets, which has become a significant problem. “We have given a deputation to the college professor to address these issues immediately. If our demands are not met, we will escalate our protest to a larger movement,” the student leader warned.
The ABVP’s protest highlights the urgent need for improvements in the college’s infrastructure and facilities to ensure a conducive learning environment for the students.
