Agartala, 8th May 2026: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has strongly opposed the recent hike in semester fees at the Tripura Institute of Paramedical Sciences College. Yesterday, a delegation from ABVP Tripura met with the college authorities and the Director of Medical Education to discuss students’ grievances and submitted a memorandum highlighting their demands.
ABVP alleged that during admission, students of the first, second, and third years were informed of a fixed fee structure. However, midway through the course, the semester fees were suddenly increased, which the organization described as “illegal and unjustified.” According to ABVP, this abrupt decision has placed many students under severe financial strain.
Delegation members stated that despite discussions with the college administration, no satisfactory explanation was provided for the fee hike. Consequently, ABVP escalated the matter to the Director of Medical Education, urging immediate withdrawal of the increased fees to safeguard students’ interests.
The organization warned that failure to roll back the hike would compel them to launch a larger student movement in the coming days.
