Agartala, 15th September 2026 : Ayesha Khatun, who was injured after allegedly being hit by a vehicle belonging to an IPS officer in Agartala’s Akhaura Road area on August 31, is now seeking financial assistance for advanced eye treatment outside Tripura.

According to her family, Ayesha sustained serious injuries to her chest, head and eyes in the accident and was treated at GB Hospital for several days. While her chest and head injuries have reportedly improved, her eye condition remains critical. Her husband, Mukta Miah, said Ayesha is currently unable to see, particularly through her right eye.

Miah said doctors in the Ophthalmology Department at GB Hospital informed him that further treatment for her eyes was not possible at the hospital and advised that she be taken to another state for advanced medical care.

A written complaint has been lodged at West Agartala Police Station in connection with the accident. A case has reportedly been registered involving vehicle number TR 01 CL 0297 and its owner, IPS officer Kishan Kumar.

Miah, a fish trader, said he cannot afford the expenses of treatment outside the state. He appealed to the state government and the public for financial assistance to help restore his wife’s eyesight.
