Administrative workers attacked in anti-unethical drug trade campaign at Teliamura bazaar

Agartala, August 05: Administrative workers launched a campaign against unethical pharmaceutical traders in an incident that took place at Mohorchara Bazar under Teliamura Police Station.

It is learned that recent directives from the state administration or the health department have increased the vigilance across the entire state in terms of drug control. Consequently, various officials at different levels under the Drug Controller have been conducting regular operations on different medicine shops.

During one of these routine checks, administrative workers were physically assaulted by a group of unscrupulous pharmaceutical traders at Mohorchara Bazar in Teliamura Police Station.

According to the allegations, when a delegation of drug controllers went to conduct a raid at a medicine shop called Ananda Medical Hall on Friday night, they were unexpectedly attacked by associates of Chinnu Ghosh, a relevant official. The attackers quickly escaped through a back door of the shop, carrying some drug documents.

Upon being informed by the officials on the scene, the police administration promptly arrived at the site of the incident. A written complaint was filed against the involved pharmaceutical trader, Chinnu Ghosh, at Teliamura Police Station.

According to the police statement, an investigation into the incident has begun based on the allegations. Subsequently, the representative team of the authorities sealed the Ananda Medical Hall and took further actions as deemed necessary.
