Agartala, 19th May 2025: In a remarkable achievement, Adrija Nath, a student of Dharmanagar’s cultural organization Tamalini’s Chhaya, secured second place at the all-India level in the Rabindra Dance examination for the 2023-2024 academic year. The prestigious competition was organized by the Bengali Music Council, and Adrija was awarded a silver medal during the Convocation Ceremony 2025 at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.
The convocation was attended by key officials from the Kolkata and Agartala divisions of the Bengali Music Council Management Committee saw Adrija being felicitated for her excellence in Rabindra dance. Among the dignitaries present were Shyamal Ganguly, treasurer of the Kolkata division and Uday Shankar Bhattacharya, chief executive of the Tripura State Committee’s Agartala division. They were also honored by Tamalini’s Chhaya for their contributions to the field of cultural education.
Adrija’s dance journey has been guided by her mentor, Sangeeta Datta, whose training played a pivotal role in her success. In addition to her dance teacher, Adrija credits her mother and younger sister for their unwavering support. Despite personal challenges, including the passing of her father in 2021, Adrija persevered, excelling both in academics and dance. She recently cleared her secondary examination under the Tripura Board of Secondary Education from P.M. Shri Dharmanagar Government Higher Secondary Girls’ School, scoring an impressive 93.8 percent.
Her younger sister, Amita—also a leading figure in Tamalini’s Chhaya—has been instrumental in supporting Adrija’s education and artistic pursuits. The entire Dharmanagar community, along with her family and friends, is celebrating her triumph, wishing her continued success in the future.
