Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announces ‘Bikasit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ from May 29 to June 12; Ratan Lal Nath attends meeting

Agartala, 19th May 2025:  Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced the launch of the ‘Bikasit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’, a nationwide initiative aimed at equipping farmers with advanced agricultural technology and knowledge of high-yield seeds. The campaign will run from May 29 to June 12.

The announcement was made during a virtual meeting today, which included Minister Ratan Lal Nath and other senior officials. Following the meeting, Minister Nath stated, “This campaign will empower farmers by providing them with scientific knowledge and practical solutions to enhance agricultural productivity.” 

The initiative is part of a broader effort led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build a ‘Developed India’ through modernization and research in the agricultural sector. “A comprehensive and transformative campaign is being rolled out to ensure improved farming and prosperous farmers,” Nath emphasized. 

Officials noted that the program will include daily meetings at the district level, with three sessions scheduled each day. Special focus will be placed on scientific agricultural practices, research, and capacity building ensuring farmers receive hands-on guidance for enhancing yield and sustainability. 

The government aims to use this initiative to accelerate agricultural modernization making farming more efficient and economically viable for millions across the country.
