Agartala, 2nd October 2026 : The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) observed ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on Thursday, with a cleanliness drive conducted in the Central Zone, including the Jagannath Temple area.
AMC Deputy Mayor Manika Das Datta, along with zone chairpersons, councillors and senior officials, participated in the programme. Paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, she said the AMC was joining the nationwide cleanliness campaign to realise his vision of a clean India.
“Through our collective efforts, we are aligning ourselves with Modiji’s resolve to build a clean and healthy India,” she said. She added that the AMC was committed to fulfilling the vision of the Chief Minister and Mayor of keeping the people of Tripura clean and healthy.
Datta urged citizens to participate actively in cleanliness initiatives and contribute to keeping their surroundings clean and healthy.
