Agartala, 28th April 2025: The days of waterlogged streets and daily hardships are now a distant memory for the residents of Agartala. Once plagued by flooding after even the slightest rainfall, the city has seen a remarkable transformation thanks to the efforts of the Agartala Municipal Corporation.
Sujoy Chowdhury, Superintendent Engineer remarked during an inspection on Monday, “The pumps are functioning exceptionally well, and we are confident this will significantly reduce waterlogging in the city.”
The inspection focused on four pumps in the Ganaraj Chowmuhani area, which have been relocated seven feet higher to ensure quicker drainage. Joydeb Chakraborty, Executive Engineer added, “The infrastructure improvements are a testament to our commitment to the city’s residents.”
The initiative to upgrade the city’s pump system has brought much-needed relief to the citizens, who can now rest easy even during heavy rains. The Municipal Corporation’s proactive measures have turned the tide on Agartala’s long-standing waterlogging woes.
