Agartala, 16th August 2025: Agartala Public School celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm on Friday. The event began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal-in-Charge Shiba Prasad Bhowmik followed by the singing of the National Anthem filling the campus with immense pride.
The celebration featured a colourful cultural programme, where students from different grades showcased their talents through soulful songs, energetic dances and thought-provoking speeches. The performances highlighted India’s freedom struggle, rich history and cultural diversity.
The audience was treated to a series of solo and group dances, with students gracefully moving to patriotic tunes. Several students also delivered speeches reflecting on the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the importance of being responsible citizens.
Adding to the solemnity of the occasion, teachers Rajat Baishya and Mousumi Rani Saha addressed the gathering, urging students to uphold the true spirit of independence and contribute positively to the nation’s progress.
The highlight of the programme was the stirring speech delivered by Principal-in-Charge Shiba Prasad Bhowmik, who emphasized the values of unity, equality, and patriotism. The celebration concluded with a sweet distribution, leaving everyone with a sense of joy, national pride, and togetherness.
The school also announced the names of students and faculty members who participated in various performance categories. In the dance segment, performers included Aradhya Rahaman, Deepsikha Satnami, Mehek Choudhury, Apurba Shil, Pritilata Das, Priyankari Roy, Sathi Biswas, Afrina Khan, Sujata Sutradhar and Nilakshu Das. The singing category featured Himanee Sharma, Aradhya Roy Achariya, Shibam Saha, Agradeep Banik, Priyankari Roy, Mehak Choudhury, Prilata Das, Rujee Saha, Ishika Das, Ponam Ghosh, Bhagyasree Das, Ahana Biswas, Barsha Chakraborty, Biraj Das, Snigdha Roy, Riya Das, Shreyashree Das, among others. Representing the speech category were Shiba Prasad Bhowmik (Principal-in-Charge), Rajat Baishya (Assistant Teacher) and Mousumi Rani Saha (Assistant Teacher).
