Agartala Public School holds successful mini-marathon promoting health and fitness

Agartala, December 31: In a commendable initiative towards promoting a healthy lifestyle, Agartala Public School, an English medium institution situated in Baldakhal, Chandrapur, organized a mini-marathon event on December 31, 2024. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a significant number of teenagers and youths, demonstrating a collective commitment to physical well-being.

The mini-marathon kicked off from the premises of the Old Agartala Block office in Khayerpur and culminated in front of Tushar Sangha at Chandrapur. The inaugural ceremony, conducted in the early morning, saw the presence of Old Agartala Block Advisory Committee chairman Biswajit Shil, social worker Amit Kumar Nandi, Agartala Public School’s Management Committee President Dr. Sajal Nath, and Secretary Arun Nath.

Addressing the gathering, Chairman Biswajit Shil emphasized the importance of fostering a healthy mindset among the youth for the betterment of society and Tripura as a whole. He stated, “Today’s children are tomorrow’s future leaders. To fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making Bharat the best country in the world by 2047, it is imperative that our children remain healthy, both physically and mentally.”

Expressing gratitude to Agartala Public School for organizing the event, Shil acknowledged the prevalent trend of sedentary behavior among the youth due to excessive use of electronic devices. He praised the school’s initiative, highlighting its potential to serve as a remedy for society. Shil urged other educational institutions and clubs to follow suit in organizing similar events, aligning with the government’s objective of creating a ‘Nesha Mukta Tripura’ (Addiction-Free Tripura).

The event concluded with the distribution of seven cash prizes each in male and female categories, along with certificates bestowed upon participants from various parts of the state who took part in the mini-marathon. In male category, first position has been bagged by Sourav Hossain, second is Mubarak Hossain and third is Akash Nath. In female category, first position is secured by Laxmi Rani Tripura, second is Anamika Debnath and third is Antara Ghosh. The successful organization of the mini-marathon not only showcased community engagement but also contributed to the broader goal of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among the youth.
