Agartala, December 31: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced that the special train service no. 01666/01665 (Agartala – Rani Kamalapati – Agartala) will continue to operate till March 2024, to cater to the extra rush of passengers in this route. The train service, which was initially launched in October 2023, has received a positive response from the public and has been running with high occupancy.
The train no. 01665 (Rani Kamalapati – Agartala) special will run on every Thursday from Rani Kamalapati station at 9:00 am and reach Agartala station at 6:30 pm the next day. The train no. 01666 (Agartala – Rani Kamalapati) special will run on every Sunday from Agartala station at 8:00 am and reach Rani Kamalapati station at 5:30 pm the next day. The train will have 18 coaches, including one AC 2-tier, three AC 3-tier, eight sleeper class, four general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches.
The train will cover a distance of 1,930 km in both directions and will stop at 28 stations, including Ambassa, Dharmanagar, New Haflong, Guwahati, Rangiya, Kishanganj, Barauni Junction, Danapur, Mirzapur, Katni and Itarsi Junction. The train will offer a convenient and comfortable travel option for passengers travelling between Tripura and Madhya Pradesh, as well as other states in the Northeast and North India.
The extension of this train service will benefit wait listed passengers of other trains in this route, such as the Rajdhani Express, the Brahmaputra Mail and the Kamrup Express. The NFR has urged passengers to avail this train service and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Northeast region.
