Agartala, 6th November 2024: Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath inaugurated the Mohanpur Public Library at Airan Chowmuhani in Mohanpur on Wednesday. The opening ceremony was held at the Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti Hall drawing the attendance of numerous dignitaries and residents.
In his inaugural speech, Minister Nath expressed his gratitude to the state government and highlighted the significance of the new library. “The long-time dream of the people of Mohanpur has been fulfilled with the opening of this library. Our knowledge comes from books, and there is no end to learning. I encourage the future generation to read more books,” said Nath. He further noted that Tripura has 29 public libraries, and both state and central governments are working towards opening libraries in every block, panchayat, and village.
The event was graced by the presence of Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti Chairman Rakesh Deb, Vice-Chairman Sanjib Kumar Das, Lefunga BAC Chairman Ranbir Debbarma, Principal of Mohanpur Swami Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya Haradhan Saha and well-known writer Rakhal Majumder. Chairperson of Mohanpur Municipal Council Anita Debnath presided over the event and Director of Higher Education Animesh Debbarma delivered the welcome speech.
“The availability of various daily newspapers in this library will ensure that the community stays informed,” said Debbarma.
The ceremony was marked by a sense of accomplishment and optimism for the future. “This library will be a beacon of knowledge for our community. It’s a step towards a brighter, more educated future for all,” remarked Saha, reflecting the sentiments of those present. The new library promises to be a valuable resource for the residents of Mohanpur, fostering a culture of reading and lifelong learning.
