Agriculture Minister to inaugurate first ever Organic Buyer-Seller Conference on July 9

Agartala, 7th July 2025: In a major step toward strengthening the organic agriculture sector, the Agricultural and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath will inaugurate first-ever State Level Organic Buyer-Seller Conference on July 9, at Hotel Polo Towers, Agartala.

The landmark event is being organized by the Tripura State Organic Farming Development Agency (TSOFDA) under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Tripura.

The conference will be inaugurated by Ratan Lal Nath, Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Tripura, who will also grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.

This pioneering initiative will bring together renowned organic buyers from across India and abroad marking a turning point in Tripura’s efforts to position itself as a hub for organic produce.

The buyers will engage directly with organic Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) from the state, fostering meaningful collaborations and long-term partnerships.

The event will feature an impressive showcase of Tripura’s finest organic agricultural products, including the celebrated Queen and Kew Pineapple, fragrant rice varieties like Kalikhasa and Harinarayan, the rare Black Rice (Maimi Hangar), Sticky Rice (Biran), the Bird Eye Chilli, Fragrant Lemon (Gandharaj), along with Sesame, Ginger, Turmeric, Foxtail Millet, and many other certified organic crops.

This conference is not only a first for Tripura, but it also opens new avenues for our farmers by directly connecting them with premium markets. It is a major step toward boosting farmer incomes and taking Tripura’s organic identity to global platforms.
