Agartala, 11th October 2025 : The fourth West Tripura District Conference of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) was held today at the Bhanughosh Smriti Bhavan in Melarmath. The event witnessed the participation of over 400 delegates from all four subdivisions of the district.
Rama Das, Vice President of AIDWA’s Central Committee, attended the conference alongside other senior leaders of the organization and representatives from various parts of West Tripura.
Speaking to the media, Das highlighted the significance of the gathering, stating, “This conference marks a crucial moment for us. With the current political and social climate in the country and the state, the role of women has become more vital than ever.”
She emphasized the need for a stronger organizational presence to address pressing issues such as women’s rights, gender-based violence, rising prices, unemployment, and the protection of democratic rights. “Our organization must intensify its efforts to confront these challenges,” she asserted.
Das further noted that the conference would serve as a platform to chart the roadmap for future movements. “It is imperative that we unite the women of the state and build a collective struggle to uphold their rights and dignity,” she added.
The conference concluded with a renewed call for solidarity and action, aiming to strengthen grassroots mobilization and advocacy for gender justice in Tripura.
