Agartala, 22nd May 2025:   The All India Save Education Committee (AISEC) has strongly criticized the National Education Policy (NEP) introduced by the central government on July 2, 2020, calling it a “blueprint for the destruction of the country’s education system.”

Speaking to media personnel here today, Vice President of the State Chapter of AISEC Harkishore Bhowmik declared, “The central government enforced the NEP unilaterally through the cabinet without any democratic consultation. This is not a policy for education reform, but a deliberate step towards dismantling the existing structure.”

Bhowmik also informed the media that AISEC has initiated protest programs across various states in opposition to the NEP. He said the committee, in collaboration with renowned educationists and the ‘Yasha Shiksha Vidras’, has formulated an alternative education policy called the People’s Alternative Education Policy.

“We have presented this alternative policy not just for Bengal but for the entire country. It reflects the true aspirations of the people and the democratic spirit of education,” Bhowmik added.
