Agartala, 14th February 2025: The All Tripura Unorganized Workers Congress will convene a state-based conference on February 16 to address the pressing demands of workers and farmers. This announcement was made by Pradesh Congress spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty during a press conference held at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan here today.
In his statement, Chakraborty criticized the Union Budget 2025-26, alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently reduced financial allocations for farmers. He further claimed that the budget favors corporate capital interests. “The three farmer laws of the country have been repealed and replaced with a single law that benefits corporate capitalists,” Chakraborty stated.
He also expressed concern over the amendments made to the Farmer Act and the Labor Act during the BJP government’s tenure. “These amendments have created various problems for farmers and workers. Additionally, farmers are not receiving fair prices for their crops,” he added.
The upcoming conference aims to bring these issues to the forefront and discuss potential solutions. “The state-based conference of the All Tripura Unorganized Workers Congress will be held on February 16 on behalf of the Congress to address these critical issues,” Chakraborty concluded.
