Alleged premeditated murder at Sekerkote: Family claims youth’s death was planned

Agartala, 14th July 2024:  The family of Pramod Kumar Biswas, a young married man has alleged that his death was a premeditated murder after his body was found near the railway line in the Sekerkote area. Pramod, a night guard at Sekerkote railway station had gone to work as usual on Saturday evening. However, later that night devastating news reached his home as his lifeless body had been found near the tracks.

Upon receiving the news, local residents and family members rushed to the spot and informed the Amtali police station. The police immediately arrived at the location, recovering Pramod’s body and shifted it to Tripura Medical College and Dr BRAM Teaching Hospital’s mortuary at Hapania.

On Sunday morning, a written complaint was filed by the bereaved family and local residents with Amtali police station, accusing foul play. They contended that Pramod had been deliberately killed and his body placed beside the railway line. “The body was not on the tracks; it was found on the side,” one family member insisted.

Speaking to media personnel, Pramod’s brother demanded justice and asserted that those responsible should be punished to the full extent of the law. “We want the perpetrators to be held accountable for this heinous act,” he stated emphatically.

Pramod Kumar Biswas leaves behind his wife and son. The authorities have assured that his body will be released to the family following the post-mortem examination on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Amtali police have launched an investigation into the incident.
