Agartala, 14th June 2025: Marking World Blood Donor Day, the Ambassa Blood Donors Association organized a voluntary blood donation camp and awareness program at the Ambassa Panchayat Raj Training Institute. The event was jointly initiated by School Inspectors from Ambassa and Ganganagar along with Ambasa Municipal Council.
The camp was inaugurated by BAC Chairman Parimal Debbarma, who symbolically watered a sapling to commence the event. Key officials present included Dhalai District Acting District Magistrate Sumit Kumar Pandey, Ambasa School Inspector Vishnu Datta, Ambassa Municipal Council Vice Chairman Gopal Sutradhar, DCM Pooja Reang and Dhalai District Blood Bank In-charge Dr. Karuna Debbarma.
A total of 25 donors voluntarily contributed blood, while 31 regular blood donors were felicitated for their continued commitment. Speaking at the event, Additional District Magistrate Sumit Kumar Pandey emphasized the unifying nature of blood donation, stating, “The color of everyone’s blood is red, and through this, the whole world and the country can be united. Blood donation strengthens human connections.”
Ambassa School Inspector and Convener of the Association Bishnu Datta highlighted the participation of students in the program, noting that their involvement was aimed at instilling a culture of blood donation among the younger generation. He remarked that Ambassa Blood Donors Association has actively contributed to medical emergencies over the past four years, ensuring timely blood supply for patients in need.
The event witnessed notable participation from diverse sections of society, including students, further reinforcing the significance of voluntary blood donation. Organizers expressed their commitment to continuing such initiatives in the future.
