Agartala, July 15, 2022: Agartala Municipal Corporation’s Mayor Dipak Majumder on Friday flagged off a vehicle loaded with relief materials arranged with the initiative of the Voluntary Health Organization of Tripura.
Speaking to the media persons at the flagging off ceremony in front of Ujjayanta Palace here, Majumder said “Looking into the distress faced by the residents of Silchar and Cachar in Assam, various organizations and parts of government had come forward to extend support and accordingly, today the Voluntary Health Organization of Tripura had come forward to send relief materials to the neighbouring state.”
“A total of 1000 packets of imperishable products like lentils, soyabeans, edible oil, etc are being transported from Agartala to Silchar. We welcome this initiative of this Voluntary Health Organization of Tripura. At the time of distress, the NGOs are coming forward to help the society. It’s highly commendable”, he added.Sujit Ghosh, assistant secretary of the VHOT said “We are sending 1000 packets of dry rations and sanitary kits. We already received letter from the District Commissioner of Cachar district in Assam.”
