Agartala, 18th September 2025: The Amra Bangali Party has accused ruling and opposition forces in Tripura of enabling a conspiracy to incite communal unrest and marginalize Bengali communities, particularly in ADC-administered tribal areas.
Speaking to media personnel here today, state secretary Gouranga Rudra Pal alleged that Tipra Motha leaders have been issuing eviction threats to Bengali families residing for decades in regions like Bishramganj, Gandacherra, and Kalamcherra.
Pal claimed that despite being aware of these developments, the government remains silent to protect its political interests. He further alleged that tribal groups are illegally occupying government land while the administration and other parties stay inactive, fearing loss of tribal votes.
The party condemned recent slogans such as “Go back,” aimed at intimidating Bengalis, and criticized the lack of legal action against individuals making inflammatory remarks. Pal defended his earlier statement referring to Tripura’s royal lineage as Bengali, citing historical ties and the adoption of Bengali as the official language by past rulers.
He argued that Bengalis have played a pivotal role in Tripura’s development post-partition, and that both tribal and Bengali communities have benefited from this progress. The party reiterated its demand for industrial development using forest and rubber resources to reduce unemployment and ethnic tensions.
Pal also questioned the lack of progress in ADC areas despite decades of funding, and condemned communal rhetoric targeting Bengali-origin leaders. “Calling Bengalis the rightful owners of Tripura is not unconstitutional,” he said, vowing continued resistance against divisive politics.
