Agartala, 10th August 2024: The Amra Bangali is deeply concerned about the ongoing turmoil in neighboring Bangladesh, particularly the persecution of minority communities. In response, the Amra Bengali Tripura State Committee organized a protest on Saturday demanding an end to the violence. The demonstration took place in front of the state office of Amra Bengali in Shibnagar here.
The Secretary of the Amra Bangali State Committee Gouranga Rudra Pal addressed the gathering, highlighting the severe unrest currently gripping Bangladesh. “There has been widespread violence, including attacks and looting targeting the homes and businesses of minorities. These actions are not only anti-humanity but also a grave injustice,” Rudra Pal stated.
He further emphasized India’s significant role in Bangladesh’s independence and ongoing development. “India has made substantial contributions to Bangladesh, from aiding its independence to funding various development projects. Yet, despite this support, we hear anti-India slogans coming from Bangladesh,” he remarked with concern.
Rudra Pal also condemned the brutal treatment of innocent minorities in Bangladesh, questioning the political motives behind these acts. He declared that the Amra Bangali party fully supports any decision the Indian government may take in response to the violent incidents in Bangladesh.
