Amtali police held three held in two thefts’ cases; Stolen items recovered

Agartala, 12th March 2024 :   Amtali Police Station authorities have successfully apprehended three individuals in connection with two recent theft cases, recovering a significant amount of stolen property in the process. The arrests come amid a surge in theft incidents in the Amtali area, prompting increased vigilance and investigative efforts by local law enforcement.

In one case, a drilling machine was reported stolen from the Amtali area. Following the owner’s report on Monday, police launched an investigation, utilizing CCTV footage to identify and arrest two suspects. A total of 16 drilling machines, with a combined market value of approximately 40 lakh rupees, were recovered.

In a separate incident, a theft took place at a Kali temple in the Suryamaninagar area last month. Notorious thief Rajibul Alam, a resident of Kadmatala with a history of cases in various police stations including Churaibari, was arrested in connection with the crime. Recovered items include stolen gold Tulsi leaves, gold bela leaves, and an idol necklace.

Amtali Police believe that additional individuals may be involved and are confident that further interrogations will lead to more arrests in the ongoing theft case.
