Anganwadi Seva Sankalp marks Puja with gifts for frontline workers in Udaipur

Agartala, 8th October 2026 : A special ‘Anganwadi Seva Sankalp’ programme was organised at Rajarshi Kalakshetra in Udaipur on Thursday ahead of Durga Puja, bringing together Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, expectant mothers and children in a festive gathering.

The initiative was organised under the leadership of State Finance Minister and Radhakishorepur MLA Pranajit Singha Roy. During the programme, Puja gifts were distributed among workers and helpers of 26 Anganwadi centres under the constituency, besides ASHA workers and expectant mothers.

Addressing the gathering, BJP Gomati district president Sabita Nag delivered the welcome speech and outlined the objectives of the programme. She stressed the importance of Anganwadi and ASHA workers in delivering essential services at the grassroots and highlighted the significant role of mothers in society.

Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, in his address, spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s long public and political career and highlighted various government initiatives aimed at strengthening public service and extending welfare measures to people across different sections of society.

As part of the main programme, Singha Roy handed over sarees as Durga Puja gifts to Anganwadi workers and helpers from the 26 centres, along with ASHA workers and expectant mothers from the constituency. Sweets were also distributed among children attending the programme.

District Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy, BJP Gomati district president Sabita Nag, Udaipur Municipal Council chairperson Shital Chandra Majumder, BJP state committee president Samir Chakraborty and RK Pur Mandal president Sunny Saha, among others, were present.

The gathering ahead of Durga Puja created a warm and festive atmosphere while recognising the contribution of frontline workers and extending festive support to mothers and children.
