Angel Chakma Murder: Former MP Tarun Vijay Visits Bereaved Family

Agartala, 2nd January 2026:  Former Uttarakhand Member of Parliament Tarun Vijay today visited the residence of Anjel Chakma, the MBA student who was brutally murdered in Dehradun, to offer his condolences to the bereaved family.

Tarun Vijay arrived in the state yesterday and met the family today, expressing his deep sorrow over the tragic incident.

After interacting with the family members, Tarun Vijay spoke to the media and said that his visit was purely to share the family’s grief and extend moral support during this difficult time.

He described the incident as a collective loss for both Tripura and Uttarakhand, stating that the people of Dehradun have been deeply disturbed by the gruesome killing.

Calling for justice, the former MP emphasized the need for a fair, transparent, and unbiased investigation into the case. He urged the authorities to ensure exemplary punishment for the perpetrators so that justice is delivered and such incidents are not repeated.

The murder of Anjel Chakma has triggered widespread outrage and grief across the state, with several organizations and individuals demanding swift justice and stringent action against those responsible.

The case has also drawn attention at the national level, highlighting growing concerns over safety and accountability.
