Agartala, 12th December 2025: In line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Self-Reliant India, the North Tripura District ARD department has initiated a program to strengthen the rural economy through livestock distribution.
On Friday, a district-level distribution ceremony was held at the Ichai Lalchhara Community Hall in Bagbasa, where beneficiaries received 12 types of livestock and resources, including goats, ducks, poultry, and pigs.
Under the Mukhyamantri Prani Sampad Bikash Yojana, a total of 4,379 beneficiaries across North Tripura have been brought under this initiative. Deputy Director of the Livestock Department, Dr. Lalnunthanga Rowte, announced that ₹17 crore has been allocated exclusively for North Tripura for the 2025–26 financial year. He added that the benefits would also be extended through the DVD scheme to ensure wider reach.
The program was formally inaugurated by North Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Aparna Nath. The event was attended by chairpersons of Kadamtala, Yubarajnagar, and Kalachhara Panchayat Samitis, social workers Kajal Das and Bikash Nath, along with senior officials of the ARD Department.
Officials emphasized that the initiative will invigorate the rural economy and play a crucial role in enhancing the income of families dependent on animal husbandry.
