Agartala, December 08, 2022: Ashtalakshmi Sant Vichar Sammelan of saint culture will be organized in Agartala on December 09 and 10 next.
Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma while addressing reporters said that the Ashtalakshmi Sant Vichar Sammelan with the aim of communicating and reaching the common people the culture of saints expressed through literature, oral tradition, music, dance, folk art, drama. Saint thoughts are necessary to increase faith in human life after the terrible crisis of Corona. The city is fully prepared for this union symbolizing “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.
Citing the significance of Ashtalakshmi Sant Vichar, the ‘Seven Sisters’ in the North-East are seven states including Sikkim and the eight states were referred to as ‘Ashtalakshmi’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The concept of Ashtalakshmi Sant Vichar Sammelan is based on this line.
Scholars of Sant literature from the North Eastern states are participating in the conference organized by the Department of Tourism, Amarvani Events Foundation and Indus Moon Private Limited. Chief Ministers and other ministers of some states will attend the conference as chief guests. Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma said that we are organizing Ashtalakshmi Sant Vichar Sammelan in Tripura so that other parts of the country also get to know about the literature of this saint. He lastly added that it will be a unique experience in North East India. There is a common thread running all over India through cultural harmony.
Sant Vichar Goshthi of foreign intellectuals and philosophy of folk arts of north-eastern states will be the format of this meeting. Chitta Maharaj of Tripura is the President of this meeting.
Working President Dr Madan Maharaj Gosavi (Member, NCLT-J) said that this meeting is necessary to take this idea to maximum number of people in India. Many saints and litterateurs have been born in the North Eastern states. He has done a great job of bringing universalism in the society.
