SW&SE department and Sepahijala ZP distribute blankets among Divyangjans at Bishramganj

Agartala, December 08, 2022: Sepahijala District’s Social Welfare and Social Education department and Sepahijala Zilla Parishad organized a district-level celebration of the ‘World Disabled Day’ at Bishramganj Multipurpose Hall here on Thursday.

Supriya Das Datta, Sabhadipati of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad inaugurated the programme to mark the auspicious beginning of the celebration. Social worker Gouranga Bhowmik, Sepahijala District Chief Medical Officer Dr Ranjan Biswas, Sepahijala District Education Officer Habul Lodh, social workers Uttam Debnath, Kanuraj Debbarma, District Social Education & Social Welfare department Officer Uttam Kumar Das and others were present.In celebration of the World Day of Persons with Disabilities, 5 high schools and 5 high school students of Sipahijala district were felicitated.

Apart from this, blankets were distributed among the Divyangjans of Sepahijala district. The presence of Sepahijala District Divyangjans along with Anganwadi workers was noticeable in the celebration of the International Day of Disabled Persons.

Speaking on the occasion, Sabhadipati Supriya Das Datta said that despite being Divyang, they have passed the first division of secondary and higher secondary, we welcome them. Prime Minister Modi ji named this Divanygan as every person has a role to play in the society. They used to be called disabled. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave them the name Divyangan from the word disabled. They are also a part of the society and no work is possible without them.
