Agartala, 2nd December 2024: On the occasion of World AIDS Day, Assam Rifles in conjunction with Tripura AIDS Control Society conducted an awareness lecture focusing on HIV/AIDS education at Assam Rifles garrison, Agartala on 02 December.
The event highlighted the importance of understanding the disease, its prevention, and eliminating associated stigma.
The audience were explained about HIV’s impact on the immune system, modes of transmission, and the critical role of early detection and treatment. They also addressed common myths and emphasised advancements in antiretroviral therapy, which enable those living with HIV to lead healthy lives.
The session encouraged open dialogue, with attendees actively participating and raising questions. The society called for collective efforts to foster awareness and build an inclusive community supporting individuals affected by HIV/AIDS.
This initiative underscored the message that combating HIV/AIDS requires both knowledge and empathy, reflecting the global commitment to ending the epidemic through education and compassion. Personnel’s from Assam Rifles and the civil populace benefitted from the lecture alike.
