Agartala, 30th June 2024: Assam Rifles organised a Tree Plantation Drive in collaboration with Public Works Department at Kunjaben, Agartala on Sunday.
The aim of organising the plantation drive was to raise awareness among the local population about the importance of tree plantation in maintaining ecological balance, preserving biodiversity and fighting climate change. The drive was organised to instill a sense of environmental stewardship in the local population and strengthen the idea of tree plantation as part of an ongoing commitment to achieve ecological balance and eco-sustainability in the region.
A total of 150 troops of Assam Rifles and 110 PWD staff participated in the plantation drive of 500 saplings including fruit bearing plants during the event.
