Assam Rifles seizes 250 Kgs of cannabis in Sepahijala

Agartala, April 04, 2023: Agartala battalion of Assam Rifles seized 250 Kgs of cannabis hidden underneath at the backyard of Motilal Das Ward No 6 of Manikaynagar village in Sepahijala district on Tuesday.

Based on the input received from a reliable source of a large quantity of illegal processed cannabis hidden at Manikaynagar village, a joint operation was launched by Agartala Battalion of Assam Rifles with representative of Kalamchoura Police Station in Sepahijala district.

The operation party after thorough search of the area seized 250 kgs of the cannabis. The cost of the seized cannabis is estimated to be of Rs 70 lakh by the state police.

The seized cannabis has been handed over to Kalamchoura Police Station and an FIR has been registered against the house owner from where the items have been recovered.
