Agartala, July 08, 2023: Everyone is playing an active role by responding to the Chief Minister’s call to create a drug-free state. The bodyguards of State Assembly Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen are no exception. At around 8:12 AM on Saturday morning, as soon as Humsafar Express train arrived at Dharmanagar railway station, the police of GRPS police station arrested seven people from the B3 coach and a total of 27 kg of cannabis were recovered from their possession
It is reported that the Humsafar Express train left for Bangalore from Agartala. In the morning, the Speaker of the Tripura State Legislative Assembly Biswa Bandhu Sen was coming in that train and his bodyguards were present in that coach. Those who work as hawkers on the railways, when they have doubts, they tell their suspicions to Biswa Bandhu Sen’s bodyguard as there are no guards of the railways on the train. The Speaker’s bodyguards got little suspicious on seeing them and on asking their name and home, they said they were from the state of Bihar. When their bags were checked, cannabis were found. The train then crossed Ambassa and heading towards Dharmanagar.
The Speaker contacted North District Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty. Dharmanagar GRPS police and RPF were immediately informed.
