Agartala, 2nd December 2025 :  A shocking incident took place on November 30 in the Kalidur area of Satsangam, under the Brajendranagar region of Dharmanagar subdivision. Local resident Jagdish Malakar was allegedly lured out of his home at night and brutally assaulted, leaving him seriously injured. He is currently undergoing treatment at Dharmanagar District Hospital.

Reportedly, Malakar had returned home from work that evening when two youths from the same locality Pritam Das and another associate called him outside, claiming they needed to discuss a personal matter. They allegedly led him about 50–100 meters away to a grocery shop, where his face was covered with a cloth and he was forcibly taken to the house of Amarjit Das.

Malakar has alleged that once inside Amarjit’s residence, he was beaten mercilessly with sticks and rods. When his mother rushed to intervene after hearing the commotion, she too was attacked by the accused. Police from Kadamtala station were alerted and rescued Malakar, first admitting him to Kadamtala Hospital before transferring him to Dharmanagar District Hospital for advanced care.

Malakar’s mother lodged a written complaint with Kadamtala police station today. She stated, “My son has a pending case against him and is out on bail. The law will take its own course. Why did they take the law into their own hands?” She alleged that the assault stemmed from previous enmity.

The incident has sparked widespread tension in the locality. Police have launched a full investigation and sources confirm that necessary action is being taken against the accused.
