Agartala, 26th August 2025:   In a heartwarming display of honesty, an auto driver in Tripura has set an example by returning a lost bag containing valuables, including cash, gold ornaments and important documents, to its rightful owner.

According to reports, auto driver Sujit Debnath found the bag in his vehicle late last night after dropping off a few passengers. Realizing that a commuter had accidentally left it behind, he immediately reached out to local journalists. With their assistance, he handed over the bag to the West Agartala Police Station the same night.

The news of the lost bag quickly spread across social media and local media outlets. By morning, the rightful owner, a woman who had almost given up hope of recovering her belongings, came forward to the police station after learning about the incident. Following verification, the police returned the bag to her.

“The bag contained my cash, ornaments and vital documents. I thought I would never see it again, but because of Sujit Debnath’s honesty, I got everything back. I sincerely thank him and the media for their help,” the woman expressed with gratitude.

The incident has drawn widespread praise from the public. Many lauded Debnath’s integrity, describing it as a shining example of honesty in today’s society.
