Agartala, August 21, 2022: Child marriage is continuously increasing in northern districts and entire state. As a result of which the current society of youths is moving towards dire consequences. Tripura ranks second in child marriage in the entire country after Jharkhand. Judging by the education rate, the state of Tripura is quite ahead of many other states but even though there is education, the awareness that is needed regarding child marriage is still not well developed among the people of the state.
On top of that, the way in which child marriage is increasing in the northern district has become quite alarming. The activities of the ChildLine and few administrative officials are quite active in dealing with this issue. But due to the lack of proper action at the right time from the administrative side, those who are in favor of child marriage are pointing the thumb at the law are engaged with one after another incident.
In the last few months, Algapur, Sakaibari, Dewan Pasha and Kadamtala in Dharmanagar, ChildLine and DCM Dibyasree Dasgupta have been in action day and night to prevent such child marriages. Many are of the opinion that it is not possible to stop child marriage only through child line and administrative activities. If the social organizations highlight the evils of child marriage through various awareness camps on child marriage in different schools, then it is possible to protect the society from the evils of this child marriage because it is seen that the girls who are having motherhood at an immature age, both the mother and the child are dying or suffering from various physical diseases during the maternity period. So child marriage laws must be stricter to save the motherhood. Awareness should be increased only then can the motherhood of the small state of Tripura be saved.
The Prime Minister of the country has been taking one scheme after another for the protection of women while in this state the lives of many mothers remain limited due to child marriage. If the right path is not selected for its remedy then the beautiful hill state will move towards terrible consequences.
