Axe-wielding man storms school at Madhya Brajapur, arrested after panic ensues

Agartala, 13th April 2026:    A shocking incident triggered panic across the educational community in Madhya Brajpur after an individual allegedly entered a school premises wielding an axe and created chaos during school hours.

It is reported that the incident took place at Ananda Marg Global School when a local resident, identified as Sukanta Shukla Das, allegedly barged into the campus armed with an axe and went on a rampage. The sudden act of violence left students and teachers terrified, with many children fleeing classrooms in fear.

School Headmaster Sourav Roy stated that the accused had been creating disturbances on the premises for a long time. “He would frequently come to the school on various pretexts, threaten staff, and disrupt the environment,” Roy alleged. He further added that the matter had been reported to the local Panchayat several times, but the accused remained defiant despite repeated attempts to counsel him.

Local said the accused vandalized parts of the school, creating an atmosphere of extreme tension. Teachers somehow managed to control the situation and ensure the safety of the students.

Locals have alleged that despite multiple complaints, no stringent action had been taken earlier due to the accused’s alleged links with an influential political figure. However, following mounting public outrage, police from Bishalgarh Police Station intervened and arrested Sukanta Shukla Das.

The incident has sparked serious concerns about the safety and security of educational institutions in the region. Citizens have demanded strict punishment for the accused and stronger security measures in schools to prevent such alarming occurrences in the future.
