Agartala, 10th December 2025:  Attracted by the advanced medical facilities available at Government Medical College, Bangladeshi citizens continue to seek treatment there. One such patient is Md. Sahab Uddin (32), son of Md. Anwar Hossain from Kaptan Bazar in Comilla, Bangladesh.

He had been suffering from persistent chest burning, indigestion, and abdominal pain.On 29 September 2025, Sahab Uddin visited the Gastroenterology Department of GBP Hospital. After evaluation, gastroenterologist Dr. Shubhadeep Pal advised him to undergo an endoscopy, which was performed on 9 December 2025 at the S.S. Block of GBP Hospital. The endoscopy revealed the presence of a polyp.

Following the findings, Dr. Pal performed a skilled hot snare polypectomy using an advanced CV-190 endoscopy system. The procedure was completed smoothly without any bleeding, and the polyp was successfully removed. The patient recovered well and was discharged immediately after the procedure.

Medical experts noted that if the polyp had not been removed in time, it could potentially have turned cancerous in the future. The procedure was completed under local anesthesia without any surgical incision and was provided entirely free of cost under government healthcare services.

The medical team assisting Dr. Pal included OT nurse Papri Bhoumik, OT technician Suman Kumar Shil, and support staff members Minati Chakraborty and Bijaya Dutta Banik.

Expressing his heartfelt gratitude, Sahab Uddin thanked the GBP Hospital authorities and Dr. Shubhadeep Pal for the timely and life-saving treatment. The information was shared through an official statement from the Department of Health & Family Welfare.
