Agartala, 10th December 2025:  The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee on Wednesday took to the streets of Dharmanagar, protesting the November 26 attack and arson at the Dharmanagar District Congress Bhavan, along with the assault on party worker Promesh Malakar. Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha led the demonstration.

The rally started from the Congress Bhavan and wound its way through several major roads in the town before returning to the party office. Given the recent unrest, the police heightened security across the area to maintain order during the march.

A number of senior Congress leaders joined the protest, including Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Abdul Basid Choudhury, North Tripura district Congress president Digbijay Chakraborty, Pradesh Committee members Chayan Bhattacharjee and Kabel Nandi, and State Youth Congress president Nilkamal Saha.

During the demonstration, the Congress demanded the swift arrest of those involved in the attack on the Dharmanagar Congress Bhavan and called for strict punishment for the culprits. The leadership cautioned that failure to act promptly would force the party to intensify its agitation on a larger scale across the state.
