Bangladeshi woman, trafficker held at Agartala Railway Station

Agartala, 27th September 2025:  Government Railway Police (GRP) in Agartala, with assistance from BSF personnel, detained a Bangladeshi woman and a suspected human trafficker at the Agartala railway station this morning.

Upon interrogation, authorities identified the woman as Yasmin Jahan Ita from Pabna district, Bangladesh, and the trafficker as Samiran Uriya from Kamalpur in Dhalai district. Police revealed that Ita had entered Tripura through the border in Khowai district, and Uriya was allegedly attempting to traffic her out of the state for undisclosed purposes.

The arrests were made following a tip-off from confidential sources.
