Bangladeshi Woman, Two Indian Agents Held in Tripura for Illegal Infiltration, Trafficking

Agartala, 3rd May 2025:  In a joint late-night operation on Friday, security forces apprehended a Bangladeshi woman and two Indian nationals from Agartala Railway Station on charges of illegal infiltration and suspected human trafficking.

The arrests were made as the trio prepared to board a train to Hyderabad, confirmed Officer-in-Charge of the Government Railway Police (GRP) Tapas Das. The operation was conducted jointly by the GRP, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and intelligence agencies.

Preliminary interrogation revealed that the three had illegally crossed the Indo-Bangladesh border. The accused have been identified as Mamuda (30), a resident of Shariatpur district in Bangladesh, and two Indian touts — Krishna Debnath (32) of Battala, Sabroom, and Toton De (28) of Rajnagar in South Tripura’s Sabroom subdivision.“The suspects are being interrogated in phases at the Agartala GRP station. A case has been registered, and they will be produced before the court to seek police remand,” said Das.
