Content Creator Mr. Hunco held for Posting Offensive Content

Agartala, 3rd May 2025:  The West Agartala Police have detained a controversial digital content creator, Alamin Hossein, on charges of uploading offensive and objectionable material through his social media platforms, including a YouTube channel and a Facebook account under the name Mr. Honco.

Confirming the development, Officer-in-Charge of West Agartala Police Station, Paritosh Das, said a case was registered following multiple complaints. “We received complaints a few days ago regarding objectionable videos uploaded on YouTube and Facebook. Based on our investigation, we have detained Alamin Hossein, who is responsible for operating the content under the alias Mr. Hunco,” Das said.

According to the police, the content in question allegedly contained anti-national elements and derogatory remarks targeting women. A total of five separate complaints were lodged by different individuals. “Hossein is a resident of Sepahijala district. He has been actively posting highly offensive material on his platforms,” Das added. He also confirmed that authorities have taken steps to block the Facebook account and have notified the platform’s parent company for necessary action.

The police plan to produce Hossein before a local court and are seeking five days of custody to facilitate further investigation.“We are adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards those misusing social media platforms to spread harmful or inflammatory content,” Das stated.
